Training Aspirations has developed a Proof of STMS Current Competence which includes an individual assessment of competence. This event includes a 1.5 hour session (knowledge load up covering the new credentials framework, NZGTTM and Risk assessment) and an in the field assessment including setting up, maintaining and removing TTM for a common site (e.g stop/go or lane diversion).

This workshop provides base knowledge for working on category B roads (rural roads, one lane each way, 70km/h or more). It is normally completed sometime after a Cat A NP workshop has been completed.

Fee for assessment $750 plus $1,000 for hire of TTM vehicles and equipment - total of $1,750.00. As part of the practising assessment process for a new STMS, they have to install, maintain and remove 2 sites which a TTM Mentor verifies as having been completed to standard. This assessment is for the 2 verified sites for Cat B roads.

This is the practising assessment which allows an STMS to take charge of installing, maintaining and removing TTM at worksites on Cat B roads (rural roads, one lane each way, 70km/h or more).
