Existing STMS warrants will continue to their expiry date. Before then, the STMS will attend an STMS Refresher workshop. This provides an update on recent changes and a briefing on the skills and process for the practising assessment.

As part of the practising assessment process for a new TMO, they have to complete 4 assessment tasks which a TTM Mentor verifies as having been completed to standard. This assessment is for the 4 verified tasks for TMO.

Fee for assessor $750 plus $1,000 for hire of TTM vehicles and equipment - total of $1,750.00. This is the practising assessment which allows an STMS to take charge of installing, maintaining and removing TTM at worksites on Cat B roads (rural roads, one lane each way, 70km/h or more).

This is the new starting point for people joining the TTM industry. It includes a briefing, practice in a protected area and assessment on a live roading network.
