TMO Practising Assessment

Fee for assessment $1,050 plus $700 for hire of TTM vehicle, labour and equipment - total of $1,750.00. Participants have to complete 7 tasks (verified sites and assessment) in 1 day.

Fee for assessment will be $1,050 plus $700 for hire of TTM vehicle, labour and equipment.

There are a range of components included in the practising TMO assessment. Some of these are verified by a Mentor and others are observed by the TTM Assessor.

Verified by Mentor

  • Setup, maintain and remove TTM at a static worksite for a roadside activity in category A road environment (TMD F2.5) or maintain a closure involving footpath control
  • Maintain a closure: either lane merge; lane shift; cycle lane; or priority control with TSL
  • Undertake an inspection on the shoulder of a Cat B road
  • Defuse a conflict situation.

Training Aspirations can complete the mentoring for the verified worksites.

Observed by TTM Assessor

  • Maintain a closure: controlling alternating flow (F2.14)
  • Setting up, maintain and remove TTM at a static worksite provided all TTM equipment is clear of the live lane in category A or B road environment (TMD F2.7)
  • Undertake an inspection on the lane of a Cat A road.

This can also be done across two separate days, Fees for assessment in that format will be $750 fee for assessment plus $700 for hire of TTM vehicle labour and equipment per each day (verification and assessment).

Cost of a TMO Practising Assessment

Fee is $1,050 (+GST) pp plus hire of TTM vehicle, crew and equipment. This includes verified sites and practising assessment.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this unit standard. It is recommended that participants have competency in either of the following:

  • Current TMO-NP (US31959), OR
  • Current STMS (A/B/C) -NP (US31962).

Things to bring

You will require a hi-vis garment and safety boots.

Sun protection is required on sunny days. Wet weather gear is required if rain is likely. Expect the unexpected.

Qualification

There is a unit standard which is completed during this workshop:  US 31961: Explain the requirements for the worksite under temporary traffic management.
