STMS U NP Workshop
This is a 2-day knowledge workshop which provides base knowledge for the STMS category A, B or C learning blocks and the STMS Mobile learning block. The STMS Universal workshop can be run in conjunction with a category A, B or C workshop or an STMS Mobile workshop.

Qualification
This is a Waka Kotahi TTM warranted role: STMS-U.
There is an optional Unit standard for the STMS-U warrant – US 31961: Explain the requirements for the worksite under temporary traffic management.
The STMS-U warrant confirms successful completion of the STMS Universal workshop but cannot be used as an STMS-NP or practising STMS warrant.
Prerequisites
- TMO current or expired no more than 12 months, or
- TMO -NP current or expired no more than 12 months, or
- Current TC, or
- Current TC (I)
Who it is for
Any person who is intending to be:
- an onsite STMS on a category A, B, or C road environment (or in a mobile operation)
- a Traffic Operations Manager
- a TTM Mentor, TTM Assessor, or TTM Trainer
- a TTM Planner, TMP Approver, TTM Auditor, Traffic Management Coordinator, or Corridor Manager.
What's included in the fee for the workshop
The following is included in the workshop fee:
- Waka Kotahi STMS-U registration fee
- Morning tea, Lunch and Afternoon tea
- Workshop resources.

STMS-U warrant holders can complete the following non-practising workshops:
- STMS Cat A
- STMS Cat B
- STMS Cat C
- STMS Mobile.
For those who need to be practising as an on-site STMS there is additional mentoring and a practical assessment for each of the categories of road (or for a mobile operation).
