Work Ready Inspector Training & Assessment

This provides the base knowledge for completing inspection activities in category A and B road environments and on the shoulder of category C road environments.

Description

NZTA has removed the Inspector warrant.

Training Aspirations is currently developing training material for the micro-credential Applying Controls to Low-Risk, Low-impact Activities within the road reserve.

We are hoping to have this launched in September.

This provides the base knowledge for completing inspection activities in category A and B road environments and on the shoulder of category C road environments.

The training consists of a four-hour knowledge workshop delivered by a TTM Trainer. This is combined with on-job coaching and assessment which are completed on the same day.

The assessment includes undertaking inspection activities in category A and B road environments.

You may be required to bring your own vehicle with beacon(s) and ROAD INSPECTION sign for the assessment. Communicate with us about this.

Who it is for

Any person wishing to conduct inspection activities and who does not need to hold other TTM warrants.

This may include surveyors, provided their work fits within the range of inspection activities.

Staff who are regularly involved in the installation of TTM which may include inspecting or carrying out non-invasive work, are not eligible for the Inspector warrant and must hold the appropriate TTM warrant.

This is an entry point skill standard aimed at individuals who carry out low risk, low impact activities within the road reserve. It is intended for workers whose primary function may not be temporary traffic management (TTM), but they apply appropriate control measures to manage the associated risk.

It can apply to a range of different activities, working near a road, or they may go on to a carriage way with a spotter.

It is expected that someone entering this skill standard has completed some form of induction programme at their workplace. They should understand the technical skills required for their working environment, and the personal health and safety responsibilities of their role. This would include the use of PPE and the importance of standard operating procedures.
